The Ashland Rotary Club collaborates with other Rotary clubs worldwide through the Rotary Foundation to bring sustainable improvements to communities in need. These projects advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through improvement of health, support of education, and alleviation of poverty. In 2018 and 2019 our club and the Chequamegon Bay community contributed $4,000 that leveraged $12,000 of Rotary International support of a project to improve access to clean water and sanitation in twelve schools in the State of Santa Barbara, Honduras. Our club collaborated with clubs in northern Minnesota and Creston, British Columbia to provide resources to the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara, Honduras on a project of more than $100,000. A key goal is to assure that kids can stay in school, especially to assure that girls persist in school so that they can have opportunities to pursue a variety of professions. Club and community members from the Chequamegon Bay area have assisted Santa Barbara Rotarians to improve health and education in Honduras.
